Thanks zorg--doesn't seem to help though--Everything I try to download is corrupt anyways--guess I'll poke around on other sites--shame though, the arcade art library is(was?) a fantastic idea!
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Everything I try to download is corrupt anyways

I'm having problems with the website too.  Any zip files that I download end up being corrupted.  If I try to download a JPEG it downloads a random amount of it and then quits and I just have that much of the image.  I haven't been able to download more than 50% of a JPEG.

I've tried this on two computers at home and now also my work computer.  Several tries at different times throughout the day.  Anyone else having similar problems and is there anything I can do to solve this?

Thanks.

Yes it is really frustrating, especially to see all the great artwork.  Luckily I've got some time before my CP will be ready for any art.

I've tried to register with the site.  It sends me a registration email but won't let me activate.

Thanks for the other website Blanka, I'll keep that one bookmarked.

I did PM sirwoogie when I was first having problems.  It's been about a month and a half now and still no answer.

Does anyone know of a place where I can get original Gauntlet CP art and the over the coin door sticker?  I'd like vectorized but at this point I'll take what I can get.  I'm not looking for the actual CPO just the graphics.

Gauntlet's vector files from AAL are available here:  http://vectorlib.free.fr/Gauntlet/
not all gauntlet  stuff from AAL is available on vectorlib, as some AAL files are bitmap, thus I won't host them on vectorlib.

Wow that is exactly what I have been looking for!  I guess I should have just asked for that in the first place.  Thanks a million.   :notworthy:

It was working a few days ago. Anyone know if it will be back up?

I wish the guy "maintaining it" would speak up and let us know whats going on. All of my work was changed to "guest" as the author for some reason months before the site went down. Yeah some of my work was $h!t, but still, I deserve the credit.

Any word on the library's return?  I'm looking for the artwork that Knieivel has used in the past for his control panels with the space invaders figures, like shown below.  I'm pretty sure it was available at the Library.

Anyone have any idea on when the site will return or know of a different site?
Chuck Norris was originally in Street Fighter II, but was removed by Beta Testers because every button caused him to do a roundhouse kick. When asked about this "glitch," Norris replied "What Glitch?"

I've been looking for that one too.  It's very nice!  The base graphics (homebrew fusion) can be found in emdkay's thread here:

Thread: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=98344.40
Temporary download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/3okmcy4nqk5/Homebrew%20fusion%20background.jpg

... but that isn't quite the same as the one you mentioned which includes a hex background.

Yeah, it's a really great design.  I'd still like to find the version you posted with the extra hexagon shapes in the background, or even a version with a transparent background to work with, but it's great in any form.

I think Knievel might have modified it himself to add the hex background and the outlines for the controls.  Not positive, but I think that was done by him.

If I use it and add some tweaks (and those tweaks look good) I'll host it for people.  I'm not a brilliant artist with this kind of thing so I doubt anything I do will be that great.

The other thread this list was posted in was un-stickied so I figured I'd update it and repost here.

I keep a folder of bookmarks titled "Arcade Art" containing all these links so I can "open all in tabs" and copy/paste search terms for fast searches.

No particular order for these.

All are good/reputable sources AFAIK -- let me know if they aren't.

Apologies in advance to any good sources I accidently leave out.

So, the http://arcadeartlibrary.com/arcade_art/ site, is a mirror of this anywhere? Is it listed in that big list above and I'm just not seeing it?

I'm not sure what the latest story is with that site.

Last I heard, Sirwoogie was admin there and had fixed a few of the previous crashes/outages.   :dunno

There's no mirror that I know of and the domain has been down for a long time.  :badmood:

A "whois" lookup shows that the domain registration expired about a year ago.

The only good news is that the URL hasn't been registered/ransomed by a 3rd party yet.

Sirwoogie is the one to talk to about it? Really should just put this up on Amazon S3. Would be super easy and reliable and cheap.

It's been a while since I've been around but I remember the vector library was a really great resource. Is it all just gone? Surely someone has a backup of the files?

I spent a lot of time on a custom CP for myself and got a lot of pride from uploading it there and sharing it.
