It's been a while since I've had any content, but I've finally picked back up an old project. Progress may be slow. Shout out to Tully and yots for the inspiration.

Nice!

Love these cabaret builds.  Is that white melamine you are building it out of?

That's just pre primed ply wood. Birch maybe?

I tried to use a router for the marquee but my guide didn't work out and it looks like garbage. Gonna have to clean that up.

Well progress is ramping. Got most the photoshop done and found a 13inch CRT TV. So this might move to finished sooner than expected.

Here's a small update with the coin door.

So is your CP going to be on the same plane as the bezel area around the monitor?  Is it all one piece?

With it turned off, just make sure something didn’t come loose. That happens a lot with the CRTs when you decase them.

Yes 13 inch CRT TV. It's been almost 2 years waiting to get a proper monitor for this build, but never found one. I couldn't wait anymore to start so I found an old TV.  Wont get the best possible picture, but it beats an LCD/Led in the looks department.

tried dicking with it all Saturday and failed. Found another 13 inch on Facebook for 10 bucks and grabbed that sunday.

Also if I leave it on it does turn back on when I unpplug and plug it back in if anyone was wondering. So boot up should be smoothe.

You might be able to find a "sample" from a plastic company that will be big enough for what you need. Probably get away with just paying shipping too.

Would it be too dark for the bezel and cp art?

OR do a second layer of clear plexi over the smoked with the art sandwiched between the 2 !

Nice!  I've been thinking of doing something similar with my Fix-it-Felix.  I bought the ones from Any Coin but for some reason can't get them to work reliably with my Nintendo coin door. They work great in my other machines.

If you ever want to “upgrade”, let me know and I’ll 3D print you some
I'm in. Was gonna ask before if someone would print me some.

PM me your mailing address. I finally HAVE a chance to stop at the post office tomorrow to send some stuff out, so I’ll send you some to have for the next project.

Looks great.  I may have missed it but are you installing a dynamic marquee above the coin door?

I really considered it. But I settled on a standard galaga marquee.

Paint is coming up. Is rustoleum satin black the way to go? Oil base? Foam trim roller?

I didn't find satin black so I went with the semi gloss. Looks really good in person. Used little cabinet rollers and a trim brush. Artwork should be at the door soon. I suppose I better cobble up something that can play galaga.

Looking good!  These little cabs are so inviting... really tempted to make something like this my next build but wifey will kill me.

Would you like me to talk to her? >:D

I helped a friend get a pool table into his living room. That was a tense negotiation.

That turned out great. It looks like it came from the factory.  The CRT really completes it too.

Wish I worked as fast as you.

Start to finish in under one month......you are my hero.  I need lessons in efficiency.

Turned out great, nice work I really like the way you incorporated the art feels like it’s a full stand up.
