Just a heads up, San Francisco Rush: The Rock - Alcatraz Edition is now working in MAME 0.193. Hopefully 2018 can bring some improvements to 2049.

I thought all the SF games were already working in MAME? This is interesting.

That's cool; it can now be compared to the two PC ports!

Only the original has been fully working.

Looking at Haze's writeup, apart from Rush The Rock, Cruis’n Exotica is improved (not perfect yet), CART Fury is playable and San Francisco Rush 2049 - Tournament Edition can be played to a point: https://mamedev.emulab.it/haze/2017-new-focus/

Cool. What framerate do these Atari/Midway games natively run at?

my MAME is still on 0.188 lol, not had time to upgrade it yet.

Update: Just tried, they say 100% on my 4790K, but unless they only ran at 15-30fps there's something not quite right!

Pretty sure the games in the arcade actually ran at 30fps. So maybe your 4790K is slightly underpowered if you're seeing dips to 15fps. Also, you mentioned SF 2049 Tournament Edition, but what about the normal version of 2049? Is it supposed be working or still broken? You tried it yet? I'm at work and In the middle on adding shortcuts to my steam library but will try them when I get to the house.

Haze said this: San Francisco Rush 2049 – Tournament Edition also improved, and can be played to a point, but is still marked as NOT WORKING. The non-tournament edition crashes when it reaches the title screen or if you attempt to start a game.

Just a heads up, San Francisco Rush: The Rock - Alcatraz Edition is now working in MAME 0.193. Hopefully 2018 can bring some improvements to 2049.

runs fine in 0.191, perhaps in earlier versions, too.
Only difference, game is marked as "good & running" since 0.193...

As of today San Francisco Rush 2049: Special Edition is playable in MAME.  It's actually worked for a while but the sound would stop working shortly after you start playing.  I have played it for a few yours tonight and have had no issues with the sound.

The hard drive that was dumped for 2049 Special Edition had many accounts built in.  If you use the pin number 007007007 you will access the account of the person who dumped that drive.  He has all of the paint jobs unlocked including ones you can only get by winning races when the machines are linked.
